What a whirlwind of an year it has been!

I want to leave you all with some standard myths/Whatsapp forwards that make me wince whenever I hear it being spread

Microwave is bad for you.

No, they do not strip nutrition from your food. Instead, since the cooking time is shorter, it is actually better than slow process of cooking on stove top. Nope. No cancer.

Lemon with hot water pretty much cures everything while helping you lose weight

Warm water first thing in the morning might get your bowel movement going, but lemon w/ warm water definitely does not help you lose weight . IF you like lemon juice, go ahead.

Drinking water from Cu(Copper) Vessel cures ailments

Certain vessels may add trace minerals to water, but no curing of ailments… Might have a placebo effect if you believe in it enough

Intermittent fasting is the panacea we are looking for.

Yes,IF helps with weight loss because of calorie deficit most often. That’s it.

Jaggery or honey is better than Sugar

Sugar in any form is sugar. Moderation is key. Don’t fool yourself by eating honey or jaggery if you want to avoid sugar.

Why Rice? Eat Millets

Millets are equally carb heavy and can increase your sugar levels, if you are trying to switch over from rice. They might have some extra nutrients but don’t switch if you are looking for low carbs.

Gut health?

If someone says gut health, run… I see most folks use gut health to promote their supplements, youtube business , gain followers. Just eat a balanced diet to help your gut. It will be taken care of.
